Siemens 300 Results

Hello Angels,

It is confession time for me.  I have to admit that I wasn’t able to watch the Siemens 300 race today. If I remember correctly, this is the first race that I haven’t been able to watch this season. Unfortunately it is not the only race this season that I will miss.

For those of you Angels who were part of Charlie’s Angels’ Fantasy League last year, you know that I serve for Uncle Sam on a full-time basis, and once in a while I get the call to go on a “secret mission.”  Well, I leave next month for an extended “mission” and don’t expect to be back until the start of the 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup season.

As for what happens to the weekly commentaries that I send out each week, I still anticipate being able to send them, but I will not be able to update the Web site.

That said, I still have a few more races to write about before I leave, and that includes today’s Siemens 300 at New Hampshire International Raceway.

As I’ve mentioned before I didn’t get to see it, but I do know that Kurt Busch won it. Congratulations to Busch on his second win of the season.

I sent out a message earlier this week about Dale Earnhardt Jr., crashing last week on the road-course in Sonoma and injuring himself with second-degree burns on his legs and neck. He did start the race today and drove for 61 laps before relinquishing control to Martin Truex Jr., who is the Busch Series points leader and driver for Dale Earnhardt Inc. Truex was able to stay on the lead lap during the change of drivers, but fell two laps down after contact with Ken Schrader and the wall. The combination of Earnhardt and Truex finished 31st overall today.

So how did we do you ask? Well, ask no more.

Sabrina, you are our CHARLIE’S ANGELS’ FANTASY LEAGUE GOLDEN CABOOSE AWARD recipient this week after you changed a driver that didn’t make the field for a driver that doesn’t have a ride. The driver that you dropped is Kevin LaPage, but you picked up John Andretti who was let-go by Dale Earnhart Inc., last month.  Dave Blaney is the driver for DEI now, and you have him on your team as well. He finished 33rd, while Earnhardt and Truex finished 31st. Jimmie Johnson maintains his NEXTEL Cup series lead with his 11th place finish, while Tony Stewart is your best driver with his fifth-place finish. Your average finish with only four drivers this week is 16 even, but you still get the GOLDEN CABOOSE.

Tiffany, I consider you our Lucky Dog this week because of Sabrina’s misfortune.  That doesn’t mean that your drivers did that well, considering only one posted a top-10 finish. That driver is Jeremy Mayfield who finished 10th. He was followed by Kevin Harvick in 13th and Casey Mears in 26th. Earnhart and Truex finished 31st, while Greg Biffle was your worst driver with his 35th place finish. Your average finish is 23.

Natalie, Rusty Wallace and Blaney teamed up to be your two worst drivers this week. Blaney finished 33rd, while Wallace 30th. Elliott Sadler finished 15th, with Johnson finishing four spots closer to the top in 11th. Your best driver is Kasey Kahne and his eighth-place finish. Your average finish is 19.4.

Kelly, like Natalie before you, Blaney and Wallace were your worst-two drivers. Bobby Labonte finished 17th, while Johnson finished 11th. Jeff Gordon was your best finisher this week with his second-place finish. Your average finish is 18.6.

Dylan, Earnhardt and Truex combined for a 31st place finish, while Ward Burton finished 29th. Sterlin Marlin finished 21st with Kahne finishing eighth. Your top-driver is pole-winner, Ryan Newman and his third-place finish. Your average finish is 18 even.

Kris, you and I tie for the second time this year.

You have the combination team of Earnhardt and Truex this week, while Joe Nemachek finished 20th and Sadler recorded a 15th-place finish. Your top-two drivers this week are Kahne and his eighth-place finish and Busch, our race winner.

For me, Blaney is my worst driver with his 33rd place finish. Labonte finished 17th, while Jeff Burton finished 12th. Johnson finished one-spot ahead of Jeff Burton, while Gordon registered his second-place finish after starting 24th today.

Our average finish is 15 even.

Mr. X, for you it was Wallace and his late-race crash with Dale Jarrett that was your downfall this week. Wallace finished 30th. Nemachek finished 20th, while Johnson finished 11th. Kahne and Newman were your top drivers with their eighth- and third-place finishes respectively. Your average finish today is 14.4.

Julie, your worst driver is Jimmy Spencer and his 23rd-place finish. Labonte finished 17th, while Harvick finished 13th. Jarrett went on to finish ninth after his altercation with Wallace. Your top-driver is Newman and his third-place finish. Your average finish is 13 even.

UnNamed One, Biffle was your worst driver with his 35th-place finish. Other than that your drivers did well. Sadler finished 15th, while Jarrett finished ninth. Matt Kenseth finished fourth today after his win yesterday in the Busch series. Your top driver today is Busch and his win. Your average finish is 12.8.

Bosley, for you it is Wallace in your worst-driver position today, while Sadler finished 15-positions higher in 15th. Kahne finished eighth, with Newman in third and Busch winning today. Your average finish is 11.4.

Jill, Bobby Hamilton Jr., is your worst driver this week with his 19th place finish. Johnson finished 11th, while Kahne and Newman finished eighth and third respectively. Your top-driver today is Gordon and his second-place finish. Your average finish is a very nice 8.6.

Thin Man, you were at today’s race in New Hampshire, and that paid-off for you because you are this week’s TOP ANGEL AWARD winner. Your worst driver this week is Nemachek and his 20th place finish. Sadler finished 15th and then your remaining three drivers, Newman, Gordon and Busch finished third, second and first. Your TOP ANGEL AWARD winning average finish is just .4 points lower than Jill’s at 8.2. Congratulations.

Next week’s race is the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway. Don’t forget to go to the RPM.ESPN Stockcar Challenge Web site on Monday to see where you stack up after the Siemens 300.

Good luck Angels,

Charlie
