Hello Angels, Today’s commentary is going to be short. I win, you lose. Ok, well not that short. I’m not going to let you get off the hook that easily. We’ll start by congratulating Jeremy Mayfield on his win Saturday night in the Chevy Monte Carlo 400 at Richmond International Raceway in Virginia. I believe that is Mayfield’s first win this season. Now, let me say once again, congratulations to Thin Man on officially winning the TOP ANGEL AWARD for the Segment II of our Charlie’s Angels Fantasy League. Not bad for your first official segment in the league. And finally, for those of you who have waited, and yes Madison that includes you, RPM.ESPN Stockcar Challenge has reinstated Saturday's race back into the Second Segment. So, here is where you stack up against all of the other Angels for the Chevy Monte Carlo 400. Dylan, unfortunately for you, you are this week’s GOLDEN CABOOSE recipient. You earned this distinction because you only had one-top 10 finisher, and two who finished 26th or worse. Those two drivers are Casey Mears and Dale Jarrett, who finished 35th and 26th respectively. Elliott Sadler finished 17th, while Kevin Harvick finished 12th. Your top driver this week is Mark Martin in fifth. Even though your our GOLDEN CABOOSE winner this week, your average finish is still a respectable, but disappointing for you, 19 even. UnNamed One, you barely escaped the Golden Caboose this week. Your worst driver this week is Matt Kenseth in 28th. Jarrett finished 26th, while Sadler finished 17th, with Kurt Busch finishing two spots ahead in 15th. Your best driver this week is Greg Biffle in eighth. Your average finish is 18.8. Thin Man, you may have won the TOP ANGEL for Segment II, but your drivers didn’t do that well this week. Mears was your worst driver this week with his 35th finishing spot. Ryan Newman, the race’s pole sitter, finished 20th. Sadler and Busch finished 17th and 15th respectively, while Jeff Gordon was your best driver this week with his third place finish. Your average finish is 18 even. Bosley, your worst driver is Kasey Kahne and his 24th finishing spot. Newman and Stewart finished 20th and 19th respectfully, while your top-two drivers are Busch, who finished 15th, and Rusty Wallace, who finished 10th. Your average finish is 17.6. Mr X, Mears with his 35th place finish and Kahne with his 24th place finish combined to be your worst two drivers this week. Busch did okay with his 15th place finish, but Martin’s fifth place finish and Gordon’s third-place finish, combined to make them your best drivers this week. Your average finish is 16.4. Kris, your worst two drivers this week are Kahne and Joe Nemachek with their 24th and 22nd place finishes respectfully. Sadler finished 17th, while Busch finished 15th. Your best driver this week is Dale Earnhardt Jr., with his second-place finish. Your average finish is 16 even. Kelly, Stewart was your worst driver this week with his 19th place finish, followed closely by Terry Labonte with his 18th place finish. Bobby Labonte finished 16th, while Michael Waltrip finished 13th. Your top driver Saturday night is Earnhardt and his second place finish. Your average finish is 13.6. It seems that every week now somehow two of our Angels end up tieing each other. This week it is Julie and Madison. Julie, I’ll start with you. Johnson finished 36th, while Bobby Labonte finished 16th and Edwards finished sixth. Gordon finished third, but your best driver is Earnhardt with his second-place finish. Madison, Kenseth was your worst driver this week with his 28th place finish. Busch finished 15th, while Harvick finished 12th. Your best driver two drivers this week is this week is Edwards and his sixth place finish, along with Earnhardt’s second-place finish. Your average finishes this week Julie and Madison is 12.6. Jill, Johnson is your worst driver this week with his 36th place finish. Busch finished 15th, with Edwards in sixth. Your top two drivers are Gordon and Earnhardt finishing third and second respectively. Your average finish is just barely better than Madison’s and Julie’s at 12.4. Tiffany, Mears was your worst driver by far Saturday with his 35th place finish. Harvick finished 12th, with Biffle in the top-10 with his eighth place finish. Earnhardt and Mayfield teamed up to be not only the race’s top-two drivers, but yours as well. Your average finish is 11.6. Now, as I’ve said before, I win and you lose. This is because (and I’m gloating here) I am this week’s TOP ANGEL AWARD winner. I did this by picking the drivers this week that almost gave me my poker-hand straight that I’ve been looking for all this season. What I mean by that is all five of my drivers almost finished second through sixth is this week’s race. Unfortunately Johnson finished 36th instead. Oh, what could’ve been, but my remaining drivers, Edwards, Martin, Gordon and Earnhardt finished sixth, fifth, third and second respectively. Still not bad, if you ask me. My TAA average finish is 10 even. Next week’s race is the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Raceway. This is a daytime race, after two or three in a row at night. Don't forget to go to the ESPN.RPM Stockcar Challenge Web site to see where you stack up against all the other Angels, now that Segment II is completed. Good luck Angels, Charlie |
