Hello
Angels, Bosley, Mr. X and the UnNamed One,
The
race last night lived up to what I would call a Saturday night special. No real controversy, just good racing. You can definitely tell everyone is thinking championship
now. Especially with Matt Kenseth and Kevin Harvick, who are one and two
in the Winston Cup Championship points standings.
Harvick last night didn’t give Kenseth any breathing room when
Kenseth went to pass early in the race.
While I can’t remember if they actually touched, there were
some pretty tense moments. Luckily
for both drivers they came away unscathed and both finished in the
top-10 of the race.
Ryan
Newman almost won his ninth race on fuel mileage again, but this time
his tires hurt him and Tony Stewart passed him with about 10 laps to go.
Stewart cruised to win the UAW-GM Quality 500. Congratulations to Stewart on only his second win since
winning the 2002 Winston Cup Championship.
As
for our teams, most of us did much better this week. But, I almost had
to award the Charlie’s Angels’ BONEHEAD Award to one of our
teammates, but their driver did enter the race, just didn’t qualify.
Yes,
Sabrina I’m talking about you. Ken
Schrader not making the 43-car field really hurt you and automatically
gives you the GOLDEN CABOOSE Award for this race.
Robby Gordon didn’t help you either with his 38th place finish
after crashing into the wall. Other
than that, you’re drivers were outstanding.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., finished ninth, while Jimmie Johnson finished
third. Your top driver this week is your “stud,” Stewart and his
win. Much better luck next
week.
Bosley,
Sabrina saved you from a repeat GCA this week.
Lucky for you all of your drivers qualified.
Unlucky for you though is Elliott Sadler is having a string of
bad luck with crashes. He
crashed hard again this week ending his day early in 43rd spot.
Kurt Busch had his engine blow up last week, this week he had a
tire disintegrate causing his to crash late in the race. He finished 41st. Michael
Waltrip had a decent day finishing 14th, while Rusty Wallace had two
penalties for speeding on pit-road.
He lost many positions and ended his night in 13th spot.
Your top driver is Newman and his second place finish.
Your average finish is a disappointing 22.6.
With your recent bad luck, I suggest all of our angels wish you a
much better week next week.
Tiffany,
while you held the top spot on the Charlie’s Angels’ Fantasy League
after last week’s race, this week you lost that position because
Sadler’s 43rd place finish combining with John Andretti’s 30th place
finish is definitely not helping your cause. Harvick however had a good
run and finished 10th. Johnson and Newman teamed up to finish in third
and second places to round out your five drivers.
Your average finish this week is a not so bad17.6. Better luck
next week.
Kris,
Mike Skinner again is your worst finishing driver by crashing with
Elliott Sadler. Skinner
finished 39th after reentering the race almost 50-laps down.
Terry Labonte finished 18th, but was never a factor in the race. You picked a good week to get rid of Kurt Busch and pick up
Jeremy Mayfield. Busch
crashed, and Mayfield 12th. Nice
pick. Earnhardt definitely
helped with his ninth place finish, while your top driver this week is
Jeff Gordon in fifth. Your
average finish is a nice 16.6. Better
luck next week.
UnNamed
One, all of your drivers didn’t do too badly with former teammates
Dale Jarrett and Ricky Rudd finishing 22nd and 23rd respectively.
Greg Biffle had a decent day yesterday, winning the Busch race
and then finishing the Winston Cup race in 17th.
Kenseth had a solid run even though he took a provisional to
start the race and finished eighth.
Your top finisher is Newman who started in the pole-position for
the eighth time this year. You’ve
got to wonder where Newman would be if he didn’t have such a horrible
start to the season. Your
average finish is a nice-one at 14.4.
Better luck next week.
Kelly
you’ve been having solid runs with your drivers as of late.
This week included. Jeff
Green didn’t hurt you too badly with his 27th place finish, three laps
down. Labonte is in the
same boat with his 18th place finish.
Waltrip helped you his 14th place finish.
Labonte’s brother, and your heartthrob, Bobby, definitely
helped you with a sixth place finish.
Your top driver this week is Newman and his second place finish.
Your average finish is also a nice 13.4.
Mr.
X, you and I tie for the Charlie’s Angels’ second spot this week.
Rudd’s 23rd place finish definitely didn’t hurt you too
badly, while Andretti’s 30th place finish didn’t hurt my too badly
either. We both share
Biffle and is 17th place finish. But
that is where you and I differ. You
also have Mayfield and his 12th place finish, following Mark Martin in
11th place. Your top driver
is Newman and his second place finish.
I have Kenseth with his eighth place finish, along with Jeff
Gordon and Johnson with their fifth and third place finishes.
Our
tying average finish this week is 13 even.
Nice job.
Well,
Jill, your driver picks this week definitely paid off, BIG-TIME, for
you. Kevin LePage started
the race in the fourth spot, but when the green-flag waved, he
immediately fell back. He
didn’t fall back too far though and finished the race two laps down in
21st spot. If you want to
call that a blunder you can, but your remaining four drivers were
absolutely stellar. You
were one driver away from the lowest average finish possible.
This is because your remaining drivers Stewart, Newman, Johnson
and Jeff Gordon, finished first, second third and fifth respectively.
If only LePage could’ve finished fourth instead of starting
fourth. Instead of having the absolute lowest average finish of three
even, you’re average finish is still an incredible 6.4.
My congratulations on winning the TOP ANGEL AWARD for this 31st
race of the Winston Cup Series.
Our
combined team’s average finish is a very nice 12.68.
Here’s
how we stack up after last night’s UAW-GM Quality 500 at Lowes Motor
Speedway.
Sabrina,
even with only four drivers, you still scored more points than Bosley.
This is because your drivers had extra bonus points.
Next
week’s race is the Old Dominion 400 at Martinsville Motor Speedway. Don’t forget to change your line-up if that is what you
choose to do by Thursday at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
Good
luck next week, Angels.
