ello Angels, Bosley, Mr. X and the UnNamed One,ello Angels, Bosley, Mr. X and the UnNamed One,
Through out the past
couple of weeks, Ive been talking about consistency and how important that is to
winning a Winston Cup Championship. Unfortunately, the 2002 Winston Cup Champion,
Tony Stewart, has been struggling to maintain consistent this year
In fact the only
thing that he did consistently was to see-saw up and down the finish charts. That is
until the last two races. At Dover last week he finished 2nd, and today backed that
up with his first win of the 2003 season. Unfortunately for his teammate,
Bobby Labonte, consistency was called for, but didnt get it
a bad handling car
and late pitstop caused an uncharacteristic 17th place finish. So much for the last
three third-place finishes. Congratulation still to Stewart and his win today.
Well, consistency is what
I called for, and that is exactly what we got with Sabrina (Susan) and Julie (Jen T).
They failed again to register their drivers for the third race of segment 2.
Unfortunately for them, they are well behind the rest of us for segment points,
BUT, they can still actively participate in our weekly challenges. My suggestion is
to start an e-mail campaign to get them to sign up their drivers. Let me know what
you think. Sabrina and Julie, please take that as a hint to sign your drivers up
WE
MISS YOU!!!!
Speaking of missing
UnNamed
One (Ray), you are our GOLDEN CABOOSE recipient this week. Dale Jarrett, who was
favored to win the race, crashed early in the same manner that Ken Schrader did
by
blowing a tire going into turn 1 and backing the car into the wall at 190 mph. Both
of the cars of course burst into flames, but Schrader and Jarrett both were able to get
out of the cars on their own power and escape the flames. I know you didnt
have Schrader on your team
he finished 43rd, but you did have Jarrett, who finished
42nd. Kurt Busch was having a good run until lap 193 of 200 when he blew a right
front tire to bring out the second to last caution. He ended up finishing 36th.
Kenny Wallace could only muster a 29th place finish. Greg Biffle was involved in
the final caution, which caused the race to finish under yellow, and finished 20th.
Your top driver today is Matt Kenseth, who is the most consistent driver in Winston
Cup right now, and why hes the points leader. He finished 3rd. Your
average finish is the GOLDEN CABOOSE award winner at 26 even. Much better luck next
week.
Bosley (Jude), today
wouldnt have been that bad for you had Buschs tire not exploded with 7 laps to
go. His 36th place finish, coupled with Steve Parks 35th hurt you
considerably. Mikey Waltrip finished 18th, while Rusty Wallace finished 16th.
Your only bright spot came with Stewart being in the right place at the right time
meaning
in first place when the yellow flag came out
.Your average finish is Im sure a
disappointing 21.2. Better luck next week.
Tiffany (Jen Y), Joe
Nemachek had a great race going for him until lap 148 when his rear end gear or clutch
broke, forcing him to the garage. He eventually got back out on the track, but 36
laps down. He could only manage a 38th place finish. Johnny Benson had an
average day with his 25th place finish. Biffles 2nd to last lap crash hurt him
and you because he was in the top-15 at the time. He finished 20th. Jimmie
Johnson, who led the early portion of the race faded and could only muster a 13th place
finish. Your best driver is Dale Earnhardt Junior and his 4th place finish.
Your average finish today is 20 even. Better luck next week.
I come in our point
position today also a little disappointed because of Nemacheks problems. Kyle
Petty didnt help either with his 27th place finish. Jeff Gordon had a great
car early in the race but he too faded like Johnsons. They finished 13th and
12th respectively. Matt Kenseth was my top driver with his 3rd place finish.
My average finish is 19 even.
Mr. X (Dave), Mongo bit
you in the butt today, literally. The cars rear end broke early in the race
and Jimmy Spencers could only muster a 39th place finish. Kenny Wallace didnt
help much with his 29th, nor did Labontes 17th. Definitely helping you today
though is Kenseth and his 3rd place finish, along with Stewart and his win. Your
average finish is 17.8. Not too bad, but better luck next week.
Kris (Peggy), Mongo bit
you in the butt too
need I say more. Bill Elliott did decently today
considering his foot injury
he finished 19th. Gordons 13th didnt
hurt you badly though. Helping you the most though is Ward Burtons 8th place
finish, and Earnhardts 4th. Your average finish today is 16.6. Nice job.
Jill (Jennie), the only
thing stopping you from a top-10 finish is Dale Jarretts crash on lap 54. Your
remaining drivers all finished 13th or better. Of course in the 13th position is
Gordon, with Johnson right in front of him in 12th. Ryan Newman is working on some
consistency and has another 5th place finish under his belt. The best thing for you
today though is having Tony Stewart on your team. His win today propelled your
average finish to be 14.6. Nice job.
Well, Kelly (Sarah)
YOU
ARE OUR TOP-ANGEL AWARD winner this week with another top-10 average finish.
Unfortunately, Labonte is your worst driver with his 17th place finish
.if
only we all could be so lucky
lol. Ricky Craven, Terry Labonte, Mark
Martin and Stewart all finished in the top-10 with a 10th place, 7th place, 2nd place and
win respectively. Congratulations on your 7.4 Top Angel award winning average
finish.
Our combined teams average
finish is 14.18.
Congratulations to Jill on
your taking the top of the charts for Segment 2. Its already heating up though
with this weeks results
Kelly is going to be giving you a run for your money.
Do you think youll be able to hold her off? Well see what happens
during next weeks Sirius Satellite Radio 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
Dont forget to update your drivers by Thursday at 11:59 pm Pacific time.
Good luck Angels,
Charlie
